CALATHEA

FAMILY INCLUDES:  Calathea, Ctenanthe, Maranta (aka Prayer plant), Stromanthe

LIGHT:  Bright, indirect light.  Morning sun is okay but afternoon sun is not my friend.

WATER:  I enjoy being lightly damp at all times and do not want to dry out completely.  I fancy distilled or filtered water since I can be sensitive to chemicals.

HUMIDITY:  I go gaga for humidity so place my pot on a pebble water tray or near a humidifier.   If the edges of my leaves turn brown, then I need more humidity.  No such thing as too much of a good thing.

TIP:  Prayer plants are more accepting of lower humidity levels.
